1. How long should I allow for my visit? If you have booked the Essential or Enhanced Package please allow 3 hours for your visit. If you have booked the Comprehensive Package please allow 3.5 hours for your visit. A Typical Examination Day ​ The example below describes the Enhanced Package, including the additional laboratory testing. ​ 9am – Welcome and Consultation with the General Practitioner. After arriving at the clinic, you will be welcomed by a Clinic Co-ordinator. Your chosen programme will be reviewed with you and finalised. You will also be asked to complete any necessary paperwork. During the consultation with the GP, your medical questionnaire will be discussed. Your blood pressure and blood will also be taken. The consultation gives you the opportunity to ask the GP any questions you may have regarding your medical history and your examinations. 10am – MRI Scan Time for the MRI scan which should take approximately 60 minutes for males and 45 minutes for females. If you have opted for an additional MRI scan of your knee or shoulder, for example, the examination will take longer. The radiographer will explain how the examination works and give you instructions on when to breathe. During the scan, you will be lying on a comfortable bed that slides into a tunnel that is open at both ends. You may wear headphones and select music to listen to during the examination. The MRI scanner will record hundreds of images of your head, carotid arteries, lungs, and upper and lower abdomen. 11.15am – Results & Advice Our Consultant Radiologist will guide you through your MRI images and answer any question you may have. 11.30am – Departure You will receive a link to digitally download your MRI images. The written MRI report and CT report, as well as the Lab results, will all be available within one week. You will receive a GP telephone consultation the week following your visit. The GP will thoroughly discuss all results with you and recommend any necessary lifestyle changes or further treatment options if needed. ​Please note, if you have booked the Comprehensive Package, your CT heart scan will take place after your MRI verbal report from our in-house radiologist. The CT scan should take approximately 10 - 15 minutes. Results of your CAC score are normally available within a a few days. ​All timings are approximate.
